The Code of Conduct

This includes submitting original work, properly citing sources, and avoiding plagiarism, cheating, and other forms of academic dishonesty. Faculty and staff should also adhere to ethical standards in teaching, research, and assessment.
1.2 Commitment to Learning: All members of the college community should demonstrate a commitment to learning and intellectual curiosity. This includes actively participating in academic activities, engaging with course material, and striving for excellence.
2. Respect and Inclusivity
2.1 Respect for Diversity: The college values and celebrates diversity in all its forms, including ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, language, and socioeconomic background. All individuals are expected to treat each other with respect, valuing different perspectives and experiences.

The college promotes a healthy lifestyle and provides educational programmes on substance abuse prevention.

Code of Conduct framed in 2025
In July, 2025 the college has reframed the code-of-conduct document and latest one is as follows:
COLLEGE STUDENTS’ DISCIPLINE AND CONDUCT RULES
(1) College discipline committee has the responsibility of setting up the rules, create awareness and oversee overall student’s discipline of the college.
(2) Following rules apply to all the present admitted students of this college who are studying or are registered in WBSU as students of this college.
Following would be treated as acts of misconduct by the student –
- Any act of violence or misbehaviour by the student towards fellow students.
- Insubordination and/or disrespect to the teacher or any other staff member.
- Creating disturbance within the College premises.
- Any act, leading to diverting the attention of the students from the lectures or of the teacher from Teaching (for instance, using cell phone during classes)
- Prevent students loitering around in the corridors during the college working hours.
- Damaging or defacing, in any form any property of the College or the property of any member of the College community.
- Consumption of drug, alcohol or smoking in college campus.
- Furnishing false certificates or false information in any manner to the College.
- Instigating others to commit acts of indiscipline.
- Engaging in any attempt at wrongful confinement of any member of the faculty, staff, student or anyone camping inside the College Campus.
- Organizing political/religious meetings and processions without permission from the Institute
- Hunger Strikes or any other form of strike inside hostel or in the campus
- Carrying of weapons or similar objects that can cause injury or used to threaten others is strictly prohibited.
- Students are expected to leave class rooms and not loiter for prolonged, unreasonable periods of time after classes are over in their respective departments.
- Students must attend college programs and not leave the college campus befor completion of the programs except in cases of extreme urgency with prior permission from any teacher.
College discipline also includes the following –
- Maintaining punctuality and regular attendance of classes
- Switching off lights and fans when leaving class rooms.
- Cleanliness and prevention of wastage of water in wash rooms.
- Proper disposal of personal hygiene products of both male and female students.
- Prevent littering of any kind of waste including plastic waste in the College buildings, grounds/roads/premises. All wastes, biodegradable or otherwise, like plastic water bottle, food packets etc , are to be thrown into garbage basket .
- All the students should wear their ID Cards while they are in the campus and their respective class rooms.
All complaints may be addressed to 1. the Principal /Officer in Charge, 2. Convenor, Discipline committee or to 3. any other member of the committee.

On receipt of any complaint, the DC would meet, try to find fact and will convey its finding to the Principal / OC for any action to be taken by the Principal/OC of the college.
